Sony a55 Music video's
« on: September 28, 2012, 01:53:05 PM »
Hi Everyone

I'm new to the forum, I own a Sony a55 for about a year. I take photo's and Video's. I'm very happy so far. I'm not a pro just like having fun with camera. I posted early, but never posted. I must have done something wrong, so trying again. Here is a link of some video's I shot with this camera. I used 18-55 kit lens and I also used a Minolta 35-70mm lens. I'm the drummer for the band , but got the bass player to play drums for me so I could shoot this video. Any tips or input would be nice. The audio is off the Main Mix into the Sony a55. I also used a Zoom H1 as a back up audio, but did not need. On one song I had trouble with the keyboards low end notes making noise. So had to use a Compression / gate. Still looking for the problem. So if you get a chance check them out. I'll post a link for my channel on Youtube. It's great reading all the post about Sony gear and seeing all Sony camera user's  it has been a big help for me with my camera.

Welcome Leonard.  I am glad you sorted out the posting here and now that you have gotten it figured out you can show us more of your work.
Home video cameras as stand alones look like going the way of dinosaurs as the video capability of DSLRs improves.

Thanks john, that is the truth. I've had Hi8, S-VHS, 8mm and other Newer Camcorders. I like my DSLR's and now that they added HD video makes it great for me. When i had my camcorders I would shoot small shots never 1 to 2 hrs. So the DSLR works out great. Plus you can change so many lens. I know what you are thinking about Bobby McGee. I just saw that, that is funny ! thanks will have to change that.

Leonard- welcome to the forum. I shoot regularly video and in former days film (long time ago). I have jsut finished editing a video with nearly 200 short clips and still images and I have to say the quality of the A77 was outstanding. Hope to see some of your work at some point.

Thanks,

I have the a55 and I'm thinking of upgrading to the a77 soon. The only  thing is the a55 has great low light. I've looked at the pic's of the a55 it is great in low light. even the a57 or the a77, or even the  a65 is not as good to my eye's.  They all show noise. The only thing is I wish I had more control over the settings in video mode on the a55.  Plus I like the small body. That is just like Sony they wanted you to upgrade to get the extra stuff. In the pass  all my video stuff was Sony I had a problem with a unit and they would not warranty it. At that point I was never going to buy Sony again, after about 18 yrs I said I'll try them again. It has been great so far. They say you always go back to your roots. LOL. I love shooting with DSLR's  I'm glad I had a chance to use them. I've been shooting on and off for some time , but the gear has been put up for almost a year, so I thought I would blow the dust off and do some video's of our band. I have to say it was fun !!!

 Thanks for all the post
