The Ones We Put on the Wall
« on: May 02, 2009, 07:28:03 AM »
Time for a new theme thread: The ones we put on the wall.

Often when we see great photos on the forum we'll say to whoever took it that they should print it and hang it on their wall... but we never really know when they do.

So the idea for this theme is simple - share the photos you've taken and printed and have on your walls at home.

Format:
- just one image per post
- add a short description of where/when you took the photo.

Of course you can post as many as you want -- I've got at least 8 photos on my walls I can think of from here...

This was taken in our backyard early one morning, soon after I moved into the house. I had it printed and framed for an exhibition (custom frame I made myself), and it didn't sell so it's in our front hall :)

I think there is around a dozen or so pics on the walls around our house,
Some of Carp (belive it or not !) and various others.

This was taken at Lower Tamar lake in 1991 (on an x700) and fuji velvia 50 slide film.
Taken after a good nights fishing, awoke to find this view from my bivvy.

That's going to be tricky as I print a lot... I still prefer looking at images in print format...
Here is one:

This panorama was taken in February 2009. It was only my second ever panorama. It is a six shot looking across Holcombe Valley, Just outside Bury Lancashire. The pylons perhaps detract, but I can't get away from the fact that they are there as it is part, (or is that a blot), on my landscape. Anyway he lives above my computer desk.

The ones on the wall do not have to be best shots.  This was my first ever digital considered as a  wall candidate. It was taken way back in 2002 with a N.... coolpix (defore DSLR's).  It is one of the images on the wall in the computer room.

Most of my wall pics are of the kids. I have just started to use some of my 'Nature' images as decorations.
This is the first one I hung up. Taken this past winterduring our only measuable snow fall.
I titled it "Snow on the James" as it was taken along the james river.

Just had this printed at 4ft x 11in and framed in a black frame. Hanging in the bedroom:

Just picked myself up an A3+ printer so I imagine a good few more will be hanging pretty soon :-)
