The Bay is ok for the bread & butter fish, herring, whiting etc occasionally a school of salmon or tailor come through but much a lot of the metro waters here has been hammered for such a long time that anglers are going out further & further. Recent Fisheries management changes have also made differences to the type & amount of fish caught which is a good thing IMO as some species would soon be threatened with extinction, you can blame that on the GPS.
We sold our 'big' 21' boat a couple of years back and made the decision to upgrade the get away vehicle & van so we can enjoy the fishing and lifestyle that still exists in the Northern part of our Country. We have never freezer filled, catch some to eat the rest all get released, just love the thrill of a fish taking the lure and the following fight, Clive would understand
