The Numbers Game
« on: March 30, 2008, 07:28:45 AM »
Ok, some of you will have noticed I've been quieter than usual lately (and some of you will be rejoicing at this ;))... Well this afternoon I found half an hour to do 2 things I've been wanting to for a while now.

First, I hooked up a Minolta Auto bellow I and Minolta Rokkor-X Auto Bellow 100mm f4.0 lens that I bought a while ago to my 5D (turns out I needed both an MD/AF adaptor and a 12mm extension tube to physically connect them, but that's another story...). I played with it hand held (silly), but had some fun.

Second, I took a photo I've been wanting to take for a while to start a new game.

That's right, it's The Numbers Game.

The idea is simple. Someone posts an image showing a number. Preferably just the number, not a lot of other stuff. The next post has to be by someone else (no double posting), and has to feature the next number - we're counting upward from One.

If you want to comment on someone's post, you'll need to add a number :D (no comment only posts, but when you post a number, feel free to comment on anything that has gone before*). That way we get a nice flow of numbers post by post.

Usual posting guidelines apply (no more than 800px on longest side, keep the file size under 150kb)

Now, let's see if we can get to 100.....

Here's the starter - next poster shoots a "2"

have at it...

* If you really want to comment on pics submitted, and don't have the capacity to add to the game (?!) someone can start a separate Comments on the Numbers Game thread, but I don't see why everyone can't play...

Six will be more difficult.

And, yes, that is a beaver on our Canadian 5-cent coin. What other country in the world would put a ratlike rodent on their money? :P  These (close to vermin) rodents weight up to 30 kg! (In the Pleistocene ice age — the era of the mastodons and mammoths — the giant beavers that inhabited the expanses of Eurasia and North America measured just under 3m in length including tail and probably weighed 360kg.)

QUESTION FOTHER ... would it be acceptable to use a number facsimile such "½ dozen" for "6" ?

Let's see if we can keep it to just numerals... if that fails, we can cave in :)
