Our World: December 12th 2012, 12-12-12

Our world seen in your eyes, captured and collected in this thread. The pictures should be taken during 12th of December, which gives you 24 hours time to capture some moments from the place you live or you are at that day.

Maybe we could repeat this idea next year 2013. The day is open and it's also open for discussion.

... and lets remember the normal posting rules. Only five images in a reply and the maximum image size is 800 pixels on the longer side, and 200 KB in size.

Lets see how your part of our lovely planet looks at 12-12-12.

The thread will be closed at 16th of December 12:00 local time in Finland (+1 EST).

Have fun!

kurt

Edit: added the closing date.

Great idea Kurt, does this mean we can do it again next year on 13-13-13? (Sorry I couldn't resist.) :D

We must remember that if we have our profile set to the correct time, Aussies will have only about 8 hours to post on 12-12-12 relative to EST time, one of the penalties of living upside down in the future. :( You should  make allowances for these time differences.

My apologies for all people downunder and uppover for being late putting the thread. Me and my wife was hit by a nasty stomach disease which slowed my activity.

This was already discussed on other thread so I hope most catched it.

AScot, I was thinking about the same. Maybe the 13th month is the 'Movember' :-)

For all you Northern Hemispherians experiencing snow !
Being retired, I was really busy yesterday - even HAD to go out for a steak and a wine or two with 7 other former work colleagues who catch up every 3 months
No early morning shots of railway stations or late night shots home from work (did not take the camera to dinner).

After all of that- here is our morning newspaper with the date AND FORCAST OF NO SNOW ( the temps are in celcius for the US folk)

Here’s my world 12.12.12. Nothing momentous - but it’s a good job a day Hardly ever passes without me taking something. As I’ve been so busy recently I never put aside time to do something special.

This is quite indicative of my everyday world, though ;)

Looked after my grandson and as per usual, took some snaps.

Went to Blackpool College to return some of OH’s images that hang on the wall and that he’d borrowed. The tech guy said we can use the new 48" printer at cost - in fact they'll do a 'test image' of one of OH's hyper macro insect images for free. Nice :)

Came home to see that one of the neighbours had done their Xmas decorations! This isn't very good - it was a bit of a hurried shot that needs doing again.

We were blessed with a very beautiful day on the 12th which encouraged me to get the camera out and take images all through the day and even after the sun had gone down.

Here's just 3 from all I took, if you would like to see some more, please look at my Flickr page (Snappyskier),

I am back but swamped for a while. Will post some shots from Cuba on 12-12-12 in a day or two.

Sorry, but nothing from me!

It was very windy/ sandy here on 12/12/2012, so my new pride and joy stayed in the camera bag.

I thought that I would get some photographs but it wasn't to be, so maybe next year.

Love the Xmas decorations wildieswife. Obviously a lot of effort has gone into decorating that house.

Cheers

On 12-12-12 we were at the Breezes Jibacoa resort in Cuba between Havana and Varadero. That day we went for a hike up the escarpment and took pictures of the resort and saw a tarantula on the way. Later I went snorkeling and took some u/w snaps with my Canon d10 u/w camera.

Thanks to Kurt for the cool idea.

Clive
