Interpretations - a mini challenge
« on: November 25, 2007, 10:03:14 PM »
Ok, I've been meaning to get this going for a while now, and I've finally got round to doing it.

I got this idea by reading a blog post which can be found here:
http://blog.epicedits.com/2007/10/16/28-ways-to-interpret-a-photo/

I contacted Brian and asked his permission if I could run something similar here, he said yes and has even registered as a member here, as I think he has a liking for things Minolta/KM/Sony

So here we go, what I want you all to do, is to use the picture below (apologies for large file dimensions, but the bigger the better for editing. Obviously please only post back images that are 800px max) and work on it in photoshop to produce what you think is a pleasing result. You can do anything you want to it, weird, wonderful, whacky and wild.... or just some basic alterations, but try and be imaginative.

Post your results on here, so we can see what people come up with. This is not a competition, just a 'community project' and one I would like ot see continue from time to time.

Stef,
They are really cool.  Like the IR version.  How ???

The Lith and the last old version also work really well.

What you can do in PS is just amazing!

And the Vintage versions look like you've scanned an old newspaper!

And one more....  "Before the Storm"

It just shows my warped (Gray Larson, "The Far Side") sense of things.

I presume we are allowed to comment on these v the main challenges.

Stef's "Finally something that makes it look like an old photograph:" .. the old yellow postcard is first rate. There is an anachronistic twist though. The postcard really looks as if it could be from the (say) "forties" but the canoe is clearly a modern glass fibre shell from modern times, viz. light is coming through the shell--not possible with wood.

But still, it REALLY is a very good rendition of the scene. Nice work Stef.  :)
