Lower useage?
« on: June 23, 2015, 12:22:09 PM »
I worry that,in line with some other fora I visit,it seems to be rather quiet on here lately.

Not as bad as David Kilpatrick`s Photoclubalpha though.Been there lately?Of the fora I use regularly CiC and Dyxumseem to be more than holding their own.

I should add, absolutely no criticism is intended.FWO,use it or lose it.

I has been quiet - I know I've been posting less, due to increased time constraints - I do try to pop on every day and check posts, but have not had the time to review posts in the Images to Share area, for which I apologise.

I try to pop in as often as I can but time just seems to go quickly in the evenings: I work from 10am to 6pm so by the time I get home, have some food etc., there just is very little time to 'take part' as often as I use to. I have not edited any photos for a while and have a number taken on a week away in Lanzarote. Come end of March 2016 I 'should' be able to take part more - IF the forum is still going?

According to Gary our founder, he talked to the founder of Dyxum about six months ago and they are having a slow down also. I don't know of a forum that is not slowing down and some have even gone altogether.  David Kilpatrick`s Photoclubalpha has little or nothing about the mirrorless cameras, which seem to be the future.

I try to comment on all images to share with my preferences and why I chose that one or how (in my opinion) that it could be made stronger but do notice that the number of comments is down.
I read all posts daily and comment on questions where I am able.

It is very much use it or lose it.

I look at one other image site to get image producing ideas and lighting ideas that I can try myself, but do not post any images and seldom comment as anything other than "well done" or "what a wonderful image"seems to be frowned upon and to me this is pointless..
I am still resisting Facebook but it is getting harder and harder to interact with some companies if you do not accpet their Facebook feed.... john

I dont know about everyone else but these past few months have been very busy for me. The summer is always manic with work and I don't tend to have as much time to keep up to date with forums.

I expect that Facebook groups have an impact on forums too. With such a wide reach, Facebook is probably steeling allot of members from all sorts of forums.

Hi, I have likewise been busy - I still have images from the start of the year I have yet to process :(

I try to take a quick scan of the site over lunchtime at work (which is what I am doing now), but rarely get time for more than that.

On the plus side, I have new bits of kit to play with - added an A6000 with 16-50 kit lens earlier in the year, and am now beginning to get to grips with it - fantastic little camera, so good I have recently added the 55-210 and 50 f/1.8 lenses to make a very small and light set for when I an out with family, etc, but also want decent pictures.

My other acquisition is a Tamron 150-600 - which is the opposite of the A6000 in size and weight!

Once I get a chance I'll post some images from both.
