Jumeirah:
May some pros advise me what number ND filter would i need on my A77 on 1650 lens to get the water blur effect? Assuming there is bright sunlight.

Appreciate assistance.

thanks,
Rui

REX (aka TG):
With the sunshine you have in your country i will recommend you 10 stop ND. Rob will give you the best answer

Rob aka [minolta mad]:
Hi Rui,

Rex is right. If there is bright sunlight then a 10 stop filter would be the one to go for, as for which make that all depends on what your budget is for one ???
Another thing with the 10 stop is when the light isnt bright, exposures can run into several minutes (6 plus) so its always wise to have a selection.
I currently have a 3 stop, 4 stop and a 10 stop as well as a set of ND Grads that i can use if need be.

If there is any other questions please ask.

Rob

Jumeirah:
Thanks a lot for your replies Rex and Rob. will get the 10 stops ND.

In our local market we get B+W, Hoya, Kenko, Marumi, Matin, Hamma. The B+W is way to expensive for me. Any particular one i should consider?

Rob aka [minolta mad]:
Im not sure Kenko, Marumi, Matin or Hamma actually make 10 stop filters. I know Hoya do a 9 stop ND (Hoya ND400 i think its called)
Ebay may be the best bet ?

Rob
