Enough tonal separation and contrast?

What is a perfect histogram is clearly subjective in most cases. This photo and a million others would not look as nice with a "perfect" histogram...

100,000 shots later I am still tring to find that perfect picture and not the perfect histogram. :-)

What do you suppose the "perfect" histogram is for this image?

I don't think there ever is a perfect histogram, although it's good to get them occassionaly, as it depends entirely on the picture as has been demonstrated.

Is it not more important to get the full tonal range from black to white, the bit inbetween can do what it wants........ within reason :)

Agreed. I don't shoot aiming for this sort of histogram, but for a good image. But as requested, the details:
    Exposure Mode: Auto
    1/125, F9
    ISO 400
    White Balance Manual (Cloudy)
    70mm
    AF DT 18-70mm
    Anti-Shake: Hell yeah!

And for good measure, the suspect in question
