"missing" language (Dutch) an the A200
« on: July 06, 2009, 09:14:20 AM »
Hello everybody, just registrate on this forum as a A100 user, living in the Netherlands.

I do have a question:
A friend bought an A200 via a webstore.
It don't have the dutch language in the menu (it has english, japanes, korean or chinese!! etc..)

Is the language-file part of the firmware?
And if so: is it changeable (for instance by changing the firmware)

Can somebody give me hints and links?

thanks in advance,
roi091

I wonder about that too. I'm a Dutch but bought my camera local here in the tropics and I have Arabic added for free as well .. lol. Well, I don't care too much basically as my brain is working English for more then a decade. Not saying it's perfect, but I tend to slowly forget my native language.

Looking at the languages you mention, it seems the 'international' version? I guess only for the Dutch they are equipped with the Dutch language, market protection and preventing grey import.

The English is not so bad though, you should be able to get the hang of it fast. Else, you can always ask me for a translation!

Good luck / Groet,

Thanks for the response!
You wrote ....and have added Arabic for free.......

Question:
Where did you find the language-file and how did you added it into the camera?

tnx in advance, roi091

Sorry, just a joke. Since you did not mention the Arabic language I wanted to share that my interface has Arabic as well. I can tell you, looks really funny!
