Sarie might be still on the road out there with limited Internet access? In case you did come back to Abu Dhabi in the meantime, I am in neighboring Dubai.

Hello guys, just made it back home, with Internet (just off the plane), anyway went back to Paris after the cruise, unfortunately the driver was not as honest as hoped to be. The case was a total loss, I will be posting some pictures from the once was a900.  So while on the cruise I needed a camera so I bought a Canon DSLR as it was between it and Nikon and the places went to would have been a sin not to take pictures, Anyway continued the whole trip accordingly. The camera came with only one lens and it was a real challenge to take some scenery pictures at a distance the lens was 18-55 canon. Although the quality was great but I still felt a t many occasions that the Sony with the Zeis would have given me better picture quality.

I am wanting to replace my kit already had an order ready from Amazon! Then I read a post about new cameras from Sony, any recommendations, although the list of lenses will be the major cost, the 24-70 CZ is a must, now I am debating the 135 CZ or the 16-35 CZ plus accessories, honestly I am more inclined towards the 135 CZ for a start, the whole thing will run around USD8000 approximate. The body will be an a900 with grip. If you advise today a consensus I will place the order.

Pointblank, it would be a pleasure.

Sorry to hear... that you had to buy a Canon. Really, I hope that there is some attempt to find the cabbie and recover at least some of your gear. I hope you can hold out, as I hear that there'll be some new toys coming out this month, and they may be interesting enough to play with.

Sarie- what a bummer! Does the insurance pay for it? I agree the CZ 24-70 is a "must" (if you have the money). I have both the CZ135 and th CZ16-35mm. Which one is better? This completely depends on what you shoot! The CZ135 is superb as a semi-tele and good for portraits- the 16-25 obviously is the choice if you shoot more landscapes than portraits or candids. My choice would be the 16-35 as the 135 while stunning has only limited use for me. With the CZ 24-70 you have already a more than capable portrait lens IMHO. Good luck with your decision.

The CZ16-35 is a magnificent lens and it if was not for the fact that I have the Minolta 28-70/2.8G I would have had the CZ24-70 in the meantime as well.

I do agree that although the 135 is obviously in the same range of quality, it is rather limited in usage. Instead you might want to look into the CZ85?

In the meantime I am back in Malaysia and about to fly to Europe for 3 weeks. I willbe back in Dubai in the first week of October. Good to hear you had at least something to shoot with.
