Yesterday a Sony dealer call me and said,we finally have price for a99 and we can make a good offer to you for 2000 Euro without VAT. The normal price include VAT will be 2900 Euro. (VAT is 19%)

Since yesterday i thought about it a lot ...... and i am still thinking :) until now no reviews, Stef didn't get also her a99 :) to say say her opinion.

Rex nobody will get the camera before the 22nd of October, at least here in Canada. They are still fien tunning the firmware and they have not been delivered yet. 2000 Euro plus 19% is approx. 2400 Euro which is about the same price as it goes for here in Canada.

They had apparently enough pre-orders here so that now you can not pre-order it any longer...

I guess the whole question boils down to how much video to you need? I have no doubt that while the A99 is at least as good as the A900 it is mostly catering for video. This does not mean that the AF is very likely advanced, dynamic range has improved and a lot of other little tweks but the biggest progress is in the video functionality of the camera where it should be pretty much class leading.

The new Adobe raw converter is out and it supports the A99 raw files. The high ISO images from the A99 are very promising and the overall quality of the images apparently beats the A900. See over at Dyxum.

For me that is quite an important aspect as I shoot a lot of video.

The official send out date for the first batch is th 22nd of October. But sometimes they are a bit faster. As far as I remember it was the same with the A77, it came earlier than announced.

At the price you are quoting I would say go for it; if you don't like it, someone is sure to buy it from you for that price!
