New A900!!!
« on: April 01, 2009, 11:38:52 AM »
Watching the news tonight, Sony made a statement as to the tough times it's experiencing, but is looking at inovation as the way through, specifically, releasing the A900F, a film camera modelled on the Minolta Alpha 9, but with a screen on the back, similar to the Minolta Alpha 7. It takes a memory stick to store exif info for upto 20 rolls of film (they didn't say what size card). Then they talked of cutting back more of the work force and moving their flat screen division.

Slightly related, the Japanese government, from today, has introduced tax exemptions for eco friendly cars, so Toyota and Honda are feeling more confident this year.

I wish they said what the price of the A900F would be.

Hee hee... However, this is the start of the Japanese year. Companies take on new recruits from today, schools and universities start next week, new laws have come into effect from today, including that tax exception for eco-friendly cars.

I read S-Frame from the article which was refered to in their HX-1 digital camera that can make panoramic shots. Where did you see S-Mount, Winjeel?
This is after all April 1st.
You should have tried announcing firmware update is out, that would get more people excited I think.

...

S-Mount / S-Frame... oops... I was thinking of Lieca's new middle format, but didn't really believe that Sony would do a deal with Lieca to share mounts. What is "S-Frame", anyway?

S-Frame sounds like a photo frame that can do sweeping (pan) of panoramic shots that the HX-1 is capable of generating.

Arrr... maybe you're right. Imagine shooting with your camera tethered to a photo frame, as soon as you take the photo, it can be seen by all. Or... the ultimate in live view!
