I will soon be the owner of a cat!
« on: October 05, 2009, 01:23:10 PM »
It all started when I had a look through the Nikon D700 full frame... I knew that was a mistake!
Big Breakfast gave me his Minolta 7000 and it is awesome.

Sarah my wife had her Sister over and they got loved up about us getting a cat.
I said no way as they mess the place up. She counterd saying I could get a full frame.
Play it cool I said to myself (omg result!)

Well I took her to go and have a "look" in Jessops today armed with my Minolta 28-135 and a CF card.
Well I'm now the proud owner of a A900!!!
Wife seems happy too!

Just playing with it and it's like a machine gun! 5fps is insane. My A350 would lock up after 5 shots this thing keeps going!

Congrats. My credit card was almost jumping out of my wallet when I played with it last week.
Great build quality.

Tough call though. Bodies only last 2-5 years. Cats are 15-20 years. She may have taken advantage of your drooling over the A900 :)

It was wow nice viewfinder, now I've gotta get myself a a900 :)

BTW, don't buy an CZ lenses....  that will be the start of another ball rolling!!!

Got that right. I put the CZ 16-80 on the A900 & A850 and through the viewfinder you could see the lens at 16mm. Another reason I have been hanging onto my old glass. I only have 1 DT to sell off when I get the A850.

1.5tb hard disk!!! Eeek I had to put all my photos on an external hd because my computer was filling up rapid and that was with a A350!
Playing about with low light at the moment mmm yummy. Folk complain about noise on the 900 but try using the 350!
I love the noise of the mirror and the shutter its like a well oilled machine gun.

With this machine gun you dint have to replace the gun after hours shootting. Nothing gets hot to let you down only the memory card will be empty.Congratulation with your machine gun and happy shootting...

Hehe- that's a really funny story! I am very happy for both of you! Cats are wonderful and hey it got you your toy! Look at the bright side- you can "shoot" that cat any time you want full frame ;)
