A900 Prices
« on: September 17, 2008, 09:12:23 PM »

Cheapest UK price I have seen for the A900 is £1,899.99 inc VAT from Devon Camera Centre.

Anyone else seen a good price?

I guess it will be down to £1600 in 6 months.

With Canon releasing it's EOS 5D MkII for $2700 ... I think a price reduction may not be too far away.  That's just me, though.  How about you folks?

Well ... based on how the US Economy just took a MAJOR hit on Wall Street, today ... I think my A900 aspirations went the way of my 401K ... they just vanished.  :(

What? Your savings bank just closed? I hope not... Sorry to hear, mate. I hope you're secure on other fronts.

Hope everything is OK with your funds.

I lost 14% on my companies 'stock' which I buy as part of a 'stock save scheme' yesterday.  The stock price now is about 1/3 of what it was about 3 years ago  :(

Mind you, the next 'buy' is today - so we should at least buy cheap this time around.

Things aren't looking good anywhere at the moment, it appears that in most countries in Europe, some banks have either been merged with larger ones, or are now partly owned (or propped up) by the government.

I hate to say, but things will get worse, Christmas will come, and I'm sure things will improve from there, slowly, but surely. I really don't see any more major events after the new year.

I cant complain at the moment, just made 125 % profit on the shareshave scheme  through our company, sold them last week for £6.02 per share.
I purchased them for £1.21 per share :-)

But yes, generally things do not look good.
Perhaps that will make products cheaper to buy ???

Oh, today should be a watershed of monetary disruption ... we may get to an 8000 DOW, by the end of the day.

Next week ... watch for a price shift everywhere.  No credit ... the prices have to drop.    or SONY eats inventory.  That ... is not a tasty treat.

C'mon ... we need a $2000 A900!  Yeah!   They made us wait ... now ... LOL ... they can wait!

What a disastrous start for the poor A900. There's nothing wrong with it, and Sony didn't do anything wrong. But it's all so unfortunate, that if you were traditional Japanese, you'd see this as being quite inauspicious, and so the prices would have to drop some, just to move unwanted (inauspicious) units.
