a850 or a900
« on: October 04, 2010, 01:23:09 PM »
Help...... please i would like to have your opinion.I found a850 for 1600 euro and a900 for 2400 euro. Now i am in big trouble because the difference is too big. I always wanted a900 (mainly for the 5fps) but with that price difference  can someone ignore a850 vs a900?

The choice is easy. Do you NEED 5 fps or merely DESIRE 5 fps?  :-)

TG I am surprised ??? as in many countries the price difference is close to nil. Did you check all possible online sources? Are you perhaps travelling soon or could somebody bring you one from abroad?

Yes 5 fps is very important since i like a lot of sports. The a900 will replace my current a700 and i don't think i will like to swap body's just for the fps.

The soonest i am flying abroad is March :( and as i said in another thread i will buy it before Christmas. I will wait for another one week before i take my final decision.

In the UK you can get the A900 for £1,799 and the A850 for about £1,599 so not such a big price difference.  In fact I just came very close to ordering an A900 as Currys were showing both the A900 and A850 for £1,599 but they are out of stock of the A900 - not surprised at that price!

I shoot sports as well but focus on high speed mainly. For that I don't need a 5fps as most of the times I take panning shots as well. Reminds me, on the track for the coming three days since MotoGP is back in town! Anyway, first time out shooting MotoGP with the 850. Will upload some later and you will have some food for thought.

I find it very interesting how it will end up this story.

Interesting story. I shot full blown the 1st time last weekend and I have to confess, I was amazed by the frame speed telling myself the 900 should be really awesome than having the 5/fps. Question is, how would I test?

Anyway, I don't believe it all mattered that much. Will upload some shots from the track level itself, using my usual panning technique.

H...how.... that's really rad. I have absolutely no need for 5fps and was happy with my 850... but now I want THAT one!
