Two pretty detailed reviews, both note some pretty impressive features. I've been pondering whether to upgrade to the 550 but still like the features and appeal of the 700.

Another one from 'What Digital Camera'.

I've also read the review in Decembers Digital Photo where the a550 is compared to the Nikon D90 and comes out 2nd best.  These reviews are revealing a bit of a mixed bag with the a550. I suspect I would have gone for an a700 had I read them before I bought the a550.  Never mind, I'm sure when I have time to really use it I will love it!!

I went to the Sony center this weekend, and the guy told me
that the 500/550 are the replacements for the ended 700.

I find it very hard to believe, I hope the 750 comes out.

I would find it hard to believe that it would not but if the A700 IS the end of the line the value on a body will go upwards and not downwards like most electronics...john
