travel lens for A99 or RX10
« on: April 06, 2015, 08:42:51 AM »
I'm travelling Thailand at the moment and have my A99, 100/2.8M, 16-35/2.8, 24-79/2.8 and 79-200/2.8. It's all too much travelling both for weight and worrying about fungus and I either want to buy a single quality lens or the RX10. What is my best option?
Thanks
Alan
Buying a Nikon doesn’t make you a photographer. It makes you a Nikon owner.

What you suggest is very good option the RX10 but of the cost of the quality. Why don't you buy a6000 with kit 16-50 & the FE 24-240?

Yes maybe. Had considered something like that as IQ is most important to me but not that I need it often was trying to stay with a fast lens. Is there a good gas kens same sort of range u could mount to my A99? Saying that I do worry about fungus when spending long periods in humid climates and a cheaper body would make that not such a concern. That link takes me not to images but a forum about mainly IT guys who are pursuing a photography career now. Interesting though. I thought about looking for the old Minolta lens, think it is 28-200(240 maybe)/4-4.5 which is meant to be a great lens but then I lost AF-D which I love. Would be good to get a quality modern le s that supports AF-D.
