Tilt screen died : (
« on: November 14, 2014, 04:24:56 PM »
Well after my sony A77 rear screen was playing up the other day when i pulled it away from the camera body. Now it has stopped working completely after a recent trip to london snapping the poppies at the tower. Lucky for me my wedding season has finished for this year but i have had the camera for over a year so no guarantee : (   My A700 is still working after years of service.  The local sony store in Exeter has shut where i bought it. So guess i will have to send it away for repair and get a large bill : ( Any one have an idea how much it will cost and where is the best place to send it ?????  Its put me off getting the new A77 11 which is a shame as i think its a great camera but the electronics are suspect for  a semi pro that uses the camera regularly. I didnt expect my A77 to die after 14 months use. One miffed sony user
Regards Steve

It doesn't work at all?

Have you cycled through the DISP button? Is the screen completely dark?

What were the symptoms before it went dark?

Link for Sony UK repair centre

http://services.sony.co.uk/support/en/repair

Enter A77 and hit search - it will list the options and contact info.

I note that this has changed since I had my A900 repaired (twice) - they have dropped the fixed price repair option, so the cost will depend on what needs fixing.

The symptoms sound like a broken connection.  Best of luck...john
