Clive,

Nice to hear that Sony repaired your A77 camera, especially these days with so many companies providing poor service.

Thanks for the feedback!

Great news you got it back Clive. Hopefully you can now live with the very minor ghosting?

Thanks

Peter.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes.

The sun was supposed to shine today but it is raining-snowing and the wind howling at the moment. I wanted to get out this morning...oh well.

Will let you know how it performs. It definitely seems way better.

Hello everyone!
I have a sony a77 with 18-135mm lens and I wanted to tell you I had the same error "camera error" and how I managed to fix it.
First I want to apologize for using the google translator, but I hope you can understand. Since the turn off and turn the camera left me this error and would not let me do any function first thing I did was read the various solutions on the web without making it fix, to remove the lens and clean all contacts (youtube video), format the memory, remove the battery and reinsert it, and touch the "menu + movie + automatic playback (also the AEL)" button for several seconds as he lit. Clarify all this that my firmware is 1.07, that is the most current. And eyelid completely resigned to the situation decided to try one more attempt before taking service.
HERE THE SOLUTION: I was running the mode dial PASM through 3D SCN, and setting the camera with the "menu + movie" button pressed at a time, until I put it in panorama (landscape) mode and pressing those buttons ... EUREKA! WORKED !! Gave a memory error but the format from the chamber and arranged and also the first thing I did was go to the menu and restart everything preset on the "initialize" just in case to make a kind of soft reset option.
Hope they serve the contribution, at least as a possible solution.

GREETINGS!!

Welcome Fedesony and thank you for taking the time to post your solution.  The translator is not perfect but we can get the idea of it...john
