A77 micro USB cable
« on: July 29, 2014, 09:30:04 PM »
This may not be the propper sub-forum to ask, if not: Admins forgive me.

I'm wondering if there is a shortcut to send photos from my a77 to my smart phone? Such as using the micro USB out from the A77 to the micro USB in on my phone?
Sure, I can upload photos to my PC & do some PP edits, but I take a lot of shots in the field & do not have internet access on my PC to post on FB, etc. I am able to get internet on my phone. Ideas? Peace,

BobbyJack

That's a good question. IF the cell phone recognizes the camera as a data storage device AND has an application for handling jpegs from that device, then you shouldn't have any problems.

Try it and see. :D

I use a USB OTG cable to get a full sized USB socket on my Samsung Galaxy S4, I can then connect my A900 to the phone (using the normal USB cable that connects the camera to a computer), and an Android file manager application to copy from the CF card in the camera to the SD card in the phone - I do this as a way of backing up the images on the camera, as I then disconnect the camera, and connect a large USB memory stick, and copy the images to that.
