Nice... I like it.

....but the flash is a tad bit harsh. Do you have an off-camera flash? With bounce capability?

Certainly bigger than the guys we see around here.
Now if you could get him to sit still long enough you could do a head on shot with focus stacking and make a superb macro....john

Well here's a photo from a ways back of a different individual  but again a male of the same species. This showing it's size compared to my hand (hand was flat on the ground so no cheating). They are totally nonchalant and would never try to attack you unless you try to pick them up in which case they'd think you're going to eat them so of course would bite. They are present all the time but I only see them when they rove about to find a female. Day time forays are potentially very dangerous for them as they can be spotted and stung by the parasitic Tarantula Hawk Wasp. Their bite could be pretty bad but wouldn't hold a candle to the pain from being stung by one of those wasps.

God! I'm so glad I live in Canada. Is that a Tarantula? what size is it? or what is it's leg span, could you please lift it up and measure it?

Douglas, we need a reference so we'll know how big he is.

Go back, pick it up (or let him crawl into your hand, up your arm, over your shoulder, and onto the top of your head) and take another picture!

But SERIOUSLY; nice image. ;)
