As some of you might remember, this fall I was diagnosed with liver cancer and I would need a liver transplant. In the meantime, they would do what they could to keep the tumor from growing. I'm still working on trying to get on waiting list for a transplant. They have had to do some work on my heart and it won't be until the first of May before I know if it was successful or if I'll need further work done on my heart. In the meantime they treated the tumor with radiation and that wasn't quite as successful as they had hoped. The tumor was kind of stable and not growing but still had a lot of life in it. Then a month ago they tried treating it with drug eluding beads where they actually put beads containing chemo medication directly into the tumor. Today I went to see the doctor who performed this. He had just finished looking at my CT scans of the tumor and told me that it appears to be dead. I will probably still need more of these treatments but it will give me time to try to get listed and hopefully someday have a transplant.
