I got it. So I would like some feedback on this image. This is straight from the camera. I have done nothing with it.   Thanks Tim B.

Hi thebird,

I removed one of your first posts over in I.T.S. and here in critiques as well. I see you have the image-posting process figured out. Good.

Okay...this picture. Nice scene..good reflections in the water.

If the tree was offset to one side or the other it would not block the lake view AND frame the water as well. My guess is that you could go either left or right. The horizon line might (no sure) have a small tilt .. it might be simply the irregular shoreline and hills throwing my view off.

Hope that helps,

Clive

I have a lot of trouble keeping the horizon horizontal, too. In LightRoom, to straighten the horizon is pretty simple. Also, lightening the bark on the tree in the foreground to add a little detail would be nice, just my own preferences. But I really like the mirror glassy looking lake. Nice location.

Thanks for input. How do I correct the horizon at the point of taking the picture?
Thanks Tim b.

You can use a small bubble level (most of the camera dealers should have these). Normally you attach these levels to flash shoe. Really a handy tool ...

Tripod, or hold more firmly and push, or rather, squeeze the shutter button more gently.

flash outdoors is something that i like instead of dro to bring detail out in nearby objects on a bright background like this, so may have helped here or in similar shots
