Title: what bag for around £40
Post by: Gordon McGeachie on June 21, 2012, 04:52:24 PM
I am looking for a shoulder bag to put my wifes camera gear in.

She has an A350 body with the Tamron 28-300 zoom attached, a Sigma 18-50 Dc, and a Minolta 3600HSD flashgun.

I would also like to be able to store the camera battery charge and memory cards.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

I suggest looking at various bag makers websites first before buying. Lowepro and Kata shoulder bags are worth a look.

For my needs I purchased a Lowepro Off Road bag for $12 secondhand-it fits my long lens well, a flash, filters, battery and blower brush plus of course my camera body (a A390).

Also own a Kata DL-14 which I find handy enough for carrying my DSLR and DT 55-200 mm lens when I'm out and about.

I bought a used shoulder bag from EBay. An older model, Lowepro, for around 40 pounds including post. Its a tall bag and will take my Tamron 200-500 on those occasions when I use it. More likely is A700, F42 flash, 80-200 2.8, 16-105, 100 F2.8 macro, 50 f1.7, 1.4x  plus batteries, cards filters ..... There are some quality bags available at reasonable prices if you go for used/second hand.

Gordon, if you're not in too much of a rush, try intro2020 ebay store. Got a crumpler shoulder bag for £20 - was normally £79. Not much in at moment, but stock updates regularly.

thanks all, I have upped the budget to around £50-60,and this one looks pretty much favourite at the moment.

I dont think that Jan will need more gear than she currently uses at the moment

EDIT...we ordered a Tamrac System 6 Camera Bag from WEX for £54 and it arrived yesterday, all of Jans kit fits in nicely with a little bit of room for growth...

Thanks to all who helped....
