gunkoat should adhere to anything, and it is very simple to apply you just hang the part by a string spray it on like spray paint and bake it in the oven for 30 minutes at 350 F

I have been looking high and low for this type device. Your idea is good but would be better if it incorporated slots for a camera strap. I wear my tripod collar at parallel with the camera body. The collar is on the side of the lens, like when mounted to a Wimberly Sidekick. That way you can carry it under your arm and quickly bring it up to shoot something. It carries much better than collar to the ground, when walking that is.

i did find this product from this seller, and it works well with my Canon 70-200 f2.8L. I think it also works with other long lens.
