Camerabag for the states
« on: July 10, 2012, 06:34:39 PM »
Hello,

I'm going to America in a week and a half, and I haven't figured out which lenses to take along.
My wife will carry the a580 with the 16-80 CZ attached, and I will take the a700.
I thought about the 24mm prime for cityscape's and the 50mm prime for some portraitshots.
But then there's the question, My new Sigma 70-200 f2.8 (1.5kg) or the 70-300 f4.5-5.6 (800g)
What would you take?

We will do New York, Florida, Everglades and coral reefs and Washington

Any suggestions?

I would go for reach of the 70300. Light will never be an issue in the Everglades or the streets of dc.

The long lens depends if you are going to do more city photography (where the shallow DOF of the 70-200 f2.8 can be useful to blur out the background) or wildlife out side the city in which case the extra reach of the 70-300 is usefull.  Or be like me and take it all :)
