Camera Insurance
« on: June 29, 2013, 02:42:39 PM »
Hi Folks.

I'm currently insured by Glover and Howe (UK). Although I've not had any issues with them, I have never needed to make a claim. Has anyone ever made a claim through them and was the experience good? (I know E&L are a horror story, which is why I didn't go through them).

Just that my camera equipment has finally tipped into the 'cost half as much as my car' zone and I want to be sure the premium is worth it :)

Thanks for any info!

I don't know about your insurance company but I have made several claims with my company and never had an issue. Have you discussed it with your insurer to see what sort of cover you actually have. Don't call them, go and see them and record the conversation on your phone. I pay a little more for my policy so if I make a claim I'm not paid the current value of the gear if it needs replacing but it is replaced with the current model. My biggest problem is trying to get good insurance when I travel overseas at a reasonable price.
Buying a Nikon doesn’t make you a photographer. It makes you a Nikon owner.
