Parents converted
« on: November 27, 2012, 10:14:15 AM »
After years of mocking me for using Sony my mum and dad were looking to replace their ageing Nikon D70. Dad had shown interest in the compact systems out there and tried the offerings from Canon and Nikon and found them far too small for his hands, mum was similarly the same.

Whilst I was out looking at A77's and A99's he picked up the NEX7 and loved it, having a viewfinder and flash were big plus points.

As their 35th wedding anniversary was approaching I decided to buy them the NEX 7 with the 18-55. This morning, on the eve of their anniversary I took it round and they both love it.

I've told the old man about this place and am hoping he will join when he works out how to use the camera and his pc a little better :)

It seemed such a good idea at the time, however, their version of Lightroom is a little old and does not support NEX7 AWR files. On top of that, dad's PC is a little outdated and the 24MB files will crush it. So the camera upgrade will now cost even more.

I may get myself a new iMac and CS6 and give them my old one so that they can make use of my CS5 package.
