Lens` for NEX cameras

I have had an email from one of my brothers who is asking about lens compatabilities with the NEX system.

Can aps-c ( Sony DT)and full frame glass both be used, the reason why I ask is because I am compiling an email to him with links to sites that sell second hand, and would like to give him more info.

I will also give him the link to this site and Dyxum  so he can get more info.

From this link, what second hand ones would you reccomend for him.?

Yes all Sony/Minolta "A" mount lenses can be used on the NEX with an adapter see here ...

"A" mount lenses with internal motor focussing will be totally compatible but those focussed by the camera body will have to be manually focussed..

I'm pretty sure that only lenses with inbuilt motors auto focus though there is no screw drive
Seems a very expensive tube to me

I see that the adaptor has an RRP of £179.

I take it that none of the glass in my sig wont A/F, and only HSM will ?

Only lenses with SSM or SAM will autofocus as the NEX body does not have a motor drive for lenses.

Yes only SAM or SSM lenses work with NEX with the adaptor. Else manual focus only. I use my 70300G lens with my wife's NEX5. AF is a bit slow that's all.

Pathetic AF is for wimps the nex comes to life with mf lenses i can recomend nothing better than a konica lens on there i have over 35 lenses now with more coming this next week

It is £147.99 in Warehouse Express & in stock at the moment. It was around that price when I bought mine a couple of months ago.
 I have seen it listed cheaper elsewhere but those places also did not have any stock.
