A7II play memories/remote shooting RAW
« on: September 20, 2015, 03:46:02 AM »
Is there a way to get the camera to save the raw file when under remote control? There's a "size of review image" that I have set to "original" but it still only saves in jpeg on the card.

Firstly Welcome to the site.  I cannot help with the A7 series cameras but there are others on here who hopefully will help when they read your post.....john

I only have the A7. It depends on what remote you are using. If you are using the built in remote and an iphone and then you can only record .jpg to the phone as RAW would be too large a file. I have never used it.

If you are using the remote camera software downloaded from Sony via a USB connection then you can shoot Raw + jpg. Set your camera to menu> tool box 4 > USB connection > PC Remote. Raw + jpg is in the Quality setting on the remote.

As Ascot says you can choose from playmemory app on your device to save the Jpg up to 2 MP( for a6000). If the camera is set to take RAW then the Raw stays in Camera and the JPG file on your device. I will check when i go home and report.
