Good news on the A700 replacement later this year.  I'll be watching eagerly.

I too am waiting with bated breath.However as other members have indicated it would have to really outshine the present 700 in order for me to buy or will have to save and get the 900 and sell a lot of my lenses.!!

Thanks Asher!
Like this part:
    * Mid-range successor to DSLR-A700 in development => now finally confirmed
    * More new DSLR models launching in 2010 => hehe- like the plural here- seems they are coming out with some more dSLR
    * Newly-developed Exmor APS HD CMOS sensor
    * AVCHD format video recording => this is going to be itneresting in comparison with other rivalry models as Sony always said they will only come out with video once they have perfectionised it...
    * New lenses include Distagon T* 24mm f/2, G 500mm f/4

Exciting times!

Any ideas about when Sony might announce the new cameras?

Finally, I'm ready to buy a new camera but there seems to be a hole in the line up where I want to buy.
