The two and a bit week challenge..... 2 Second Exposures plus
« on: September 29, 2006, 10:34:22 AM »
The two and a bit week challenge..... (catchy title don't you think)

The shorter timescale is for reasons that will become clear soon :)

The theme is 2 Second Exposures plus.

Something a little bit different that will make you think a bit about the shot you are taking. The image can be of anything you want, as long as the shutter speed is set to 2 seconds or more.

I'll even offer a £10 (or equivalent in your currency) Amazon voucher to the winner. So not a big money prize, but a bit of an incentive to enter.

Please note the standard challenge rules.

Entries for this one close October 14th in my time zone (UK).

Waves on rocks in cloudy twilight in Newfoundland, June 2006.
ISO = 100
f = 22
Exposure = 20 seconds
Original was rather blah. This has been color enhanced and all sorts of jiggery-pockery in PS applied. :)

OK well here is the first:

28mm, ISO800, F8.0, 4.0secs, NO AS

Handheld, elbows on handy bin!.  n.b. I tried this with AS twice and all I got was a blurry picture so switched it off!

Is the short timescale so those of us living in the UK won't inundate the competition with long-exposure firework photos?  Damn you for spoiling my plan ;-)  Now I'll have to think of something else...

No, it's because Gazraa's going to donate a kidney to his sister; the challenge time frame is to allow it to be run before he's offline. The following challenge will be back to the full time-frame.

It is, but let's keep this thread for the challenge.

-- here's where we talk about how heroic Gaz is and how lucky his sister is

-- here's where we read about the call for a couple of forum members to step up and become moderators (yes, the same thread ;))

Here's where we post entries for the Two and a bit week challenge:

I know, I'm being bossy, but we could actually do with a volunteer or two, so I really encourage you to check out that other thread.
It'd also be great to keep the challenge threads focused on submissions, not off-topic discussion
:)
