Rex I loved your winning photo and was my favourite but thought a lot of PS to add the red colour. Personally I'm all for work done in camera rather than on the computer even though we are all guilty of some processing at home but actually if processed it was a minus for me even though as I have said it was my favourite. Please correct me if I'm wrong about the processing. I loved your moto cross shot which I voted for and the a shot I'd be proud to shoot myself. Chris I loved your shot nomination 9 which made me think of the famous photo from I think it was Time magazine of the unknown Afghan girl whose eyes in the shot captured the worlds heart. In my eyes it might not have been the best photo technically but it had that wow factor for me which we are all after when we shoot. John loved your sunset shot and probably deserved more recognition. Congratulations to all the other shots that were deservedly nominated. I love the concept of this competition and hope it gains more support from the members and we keep it going.

Congrats Rex, Stunning photo. Love the simplicity and minimalist feel to it.

I also agree with what has been said above about the number of votes being too low and i hope that it gains more support and input from members to keep it going.

Thank you all for your votes and comments.

retoohs this photo was taken with a77II + Tele 2x + 300G and heavy cropping. There is not much to do in post processing with such a picture.

Sharp or not sharp is equal and you have only to deal with the silhouette flamingo and the surrounding color. So black is black and the yellow/orange from sunrise i changed the white balance to make it warmer and shifted it to orange.

I am also sorry that the votes were low but at least we have started a challenge and hope it continues with more members being interested.

Congratulation also to Chris82 and Retoohs and all nominated.

If we post more often we will keep this forum alive and it is worth it

Thanks Rex for explaining that and as I said it was my favourite and is a fantastic pic. I just thought maybe the silhouetted flamingo may have been layered onto the orange background. For me personally it makes it so much more impressive that it was caught in camera

I made a mistake when I posted the 2nd and third places. I mixed up retoohs name with Chris82' name, all my fault. My apologies to retoohs and Chris82 and to the membership.
