We tally out of 15
You of course can use any criteria you wish and vote for you own.

Are there any restrictions on the 3 choices?

EG
Should they be from different people?
Is voting for your yourself prohibited (I would suggest yes, but if so there should also be a rule that to be eligible to win you must have voted!)?

Voting for yourself is allowed and all three choices can be from the same poster.

There are two requirements for the challenges to work

1. people obviously posting some images
2. Equally important is for everyone to vote.

AScot and I want to be inundated with votes. PM either of us

I have picked my three and sent a copy of my choice off to AScot.... john

Do we vote here?

Hi retoohs
you send a pm to Ascot or chappo1 - the information is near the bottom of the 1st page of this topic. I think it will be hard to choose.

Please don't make what is meant to be a "fun" forum challenge difficult to have members voting on.

Surely the easiest way to do the vote has to be on which image/s members feel/felt best met the challenge theme criteria; Water.

I apologies to the members and the mods (should they get any complaints about me and this post) but Water was the challenge... all submitted images contained 'water' but did other 'content' distract from the main theme?

The same way for voting on any other challenges - first meeting "Theme brief" - and then if the image grabs you has to be the easiest way to use to cast a vote.

^^^^Ahhh; a good point has been raised!

I think the limits should be outlined when the challenge is issued. For instance:

"This months theme is water. Water must be the central theme of the image. Creativity is encouraged, but the focus of the image must be water and nothing else."

^^^Something along those lines, strictly delineating content of the image.

For instance... water was the theme of all my entries, but there was a LOT of other content in each image that either highlighted the water or was enhanced because of it.

My suggestion for future challenges to avoid the issue raised by Frank is to more closely define what the goals of each challenge are, and outline the general criteria for meeting the goals.

Just a suggestion. :)

As I said in the starting post, Please present your interpretation of the theme 'Water' as you see it. We do not need to elaborate on what the criteria is and we certainly do not want to impose limits, doing either may cramp a members creativity. It does of course go without saying that water must be in the entries.

Some of our mods in past challenges would show an example photo of the theme (their interpretation?). I found that doing so resulted in a lot of copies of the example being entered. Much better to leave the interpretation to the entrant.
As Frank has pointed out 'Water was the challenge... all submitted images contained 'water' but did other 'content' distract from the main theme?' That is where good interpretation comes in, where creativity can be expressed and where all votes should be carefully considered.

I hope you all will vote, just click on the PM links AScot or chappo1 here or in the starting post and enter your chosen winner a second and a third place. Please do not discuss the merits of the entries until after the winner is posted.

Please take note that Novembers challenge, 'Amour', is open here. You are all welcome to participate. Do not be shy, you cannot win if you do not enter and having entered once you will find it easier the next time. :D

Wow!! what a surprise.
Thanks guys, some really good entries here and i'm surprised to have won with this image

I personally really liked the first image from Rex although i felt it was a little underexposed for my 'eye'. Your action shot and droplets also caught my eye as did CHOLLY's sunset images as these are the sort of image i often take myself.

Thanks again and lets keep up the great standard and hopefully more people will join in.

Congratulation Chris82 for winning the monthly challenge. I personally didn't vote for the winning picture but for the ( Entry #3Waterfall).

Yes lets hope for more interest in future challenge. I really enjoy it  participating and hope the same for more people.
