From now on, the Challenges will be run as
Monthly Challenges -- meaning they will start on the 1st of the month, and end on the last day of the month.
This way everyone will know when a new challenge will be launched, and when the deadline will be. Finalists will be selected in the first few days of the new month (while the next challenge has opened), and voting will be held for around a week.
We welcome members hosting the challenges, prizes will be offered where possible.
The other significant change to the way Monthly Challenges run is that challenge themes will be announced in advance. This is intended to allow everyone to plan shoots or ways to tackle themes creatively, with plenty of notice.

Challenge winners will be invited to choose the theme for the next free month, using a short list that will be provided by the Moderators. For example, the winner of the September 07 Challenge will be asked to choose the theme for the January 08 Monthly Challenge, The October 07 winner will nominate the February 08 theme, and so on. The updated schedule will be added to this thread.
We've compiled a great list of challenge themes (thanks to everyone who contributed), and new theme suggestions are always welcomed (Please PM one of the Moderation Team)
