I will take the absence of posts to be a general lack of interest in maintaining the monthly challenges so we will consign the thread to history .....john

It would be a shame to see the Monthly Challenges end.

I do not that the scheduled challenge for December 2013 did not get started, and there was no schedule posted for 2014 so the topic probably was a surprise to most people.

While I had many opportunities for suitable shots in December on food arrangements (had I known it was upcoming), January is a time of restraint (to try and shed the pounds added over the festive period), so reducing the number of  suitable subjects. This may have been the case for others as well.

Mmm. I'd noticed the topic for this month was very slow to get going - even though a number of members have viewed the topic :(

I've been searching through my shots to find something that may have been suitable - or just FUN if no one posted - and was going to put them up today...

I've not been able to set something up specifically for this challenge - or for some other past ones. I'd mentioned this one to my son as he has just last week decided on Food Photography as his main project with his photo course and I think he was going to submit something tomorrow.

If this has now been decided to be closed due to the lack of 'interest' then maybe I wont submit and I'll let him no not to as well :(

I agree with Faldrax that it would be a shame to see these challenges come to an end. Admittedly I've not supported every one since joining, very few of late :( It has appeared to 'fall' to a number of regular well named forum supporters to post...

Hi freddie,

1st - welcome to the forum from me :) 2nd - I don't use tapatalk so don't know how it works for this or other forums/groups in respect of what may be happening on them :(

The monthly challenges aren't put out as a "Forum Announcement" and it's left to members to come to this area of the boards to see what may be on for the month and take part.

Maybe the challenges should me put out as a members "Announcement" each month rather than leaving members to 'stumble' on when they visit and maybe come take a peek in this part? Just a suggestion to hopefully help rekindle interest from all the members :)

I'm getting more prepared. Just had some macro filters turn up. Just need time to play with them :-)

Well it is February 1 here folks and I will lock the topic and declare the winner to be Apathy.
Maybe we ought to take a break with challenges for a while....  john
