-This is a helium balloon at the Great Park which is a metropolitan park under construction. This balloon carries around 10-15 people in the undercarriage up to around 500 feet and is free to ride for anyone in the area. Information can be found at

-Sorry for the lens flare. I'm looking at getting a screw in hood for this lens, but my only option are one of those rubber collapsible ones. The screw in petals won't work because this lens rotates while zooming. I think the flare adds a nice touch so I left it as is. In the foreground is a metal table umbrella.
1000 Steps Beach - Laguna Beach, CA

-I was just going to watch the sunset with my girlfriend when I saw another couple perched on the sand berm caused by the tide. I snapped some shots and liked this one the best. The girl was handing her boyfriend his hat from below the berm.
Dance Show - Newport Beach, CA

-I went to this dance show with my new equipment knowing very little about photography last summer. I must have shot a couple hundred pictures and 90% of them came out blurry because of the slowness of this lens. This shot however came out nicely.
