John and I have decided not to hold the Challenge for this month (October) as we are both somewhat discouraged (and retoohs camera is not working). If we lived a bit closer to each other we would be in a bar/pub/saloon, drowning our sorrows. Fortunately he is in Australia and I am in Canada.
I do agree that the topic was not
an easy one. Taking street photography is difficult and can be intimidating. The Wikipedia definition of street photography is photography that features the human condition within public places and does not necessitate the presence of a street or even the urban environment.
How difficult can that be? Very much so as I am sure many of you who have tried it know!
However we have to overcome that mental anxiety that we feel when taking pictures of strangers or even just buildings, if we want to progress as photographers. You say "Street photography is not my thing" but how do you know if you never try it.
(The preceding rant is not directed at any member in particular, only to those who desire to learn photography.)
We may restart the POTM (P
onth) as that requires the members to simply post photos in the 'Images to Share'.
