Challenge #2 "Old and Rusty"
« on: March 11, 2007, 12:43:25 AM »
Old and Rusty
This months Challenge is titled “Old and Rusty” in which I would like to see many and varied submissions (4 from each member) from as many members as possible. The title should be taken as one meaning. Like an old and rusty gate, rusty pipe or guttering, transport from a bye gone era, that is showing the signs of being “Old and Rusty”. So long as you capture the rusty look of your subject, age is left to your own interpretation, as we have no way of determining the age. Your subject has to be of a metal (most likely steel) and show signs of rust and corrosion. Taking this one step further, your subjects rust can be painted, but I would encourage you to capture the raw look of rust.

Prize

There will be a prize awarded to the winner of this challenge in the way of a 460 page digital photography book, titled “How to do everything with your- Digital Camera”

Judging & Voting.

When the submission deadline is reached on the 15th April 2007, the thread will be locked. The Challenge host (5DandMe) or nominated judges will narrow things down to three or four images from separate candidates.

These images will be posted in a new judging thread with the shortlisted images on display.
-- Voting will be by Personal Message (PM) to the Challenge host.  (5DandMe)
-- All board members may vote, whether they have entered the challenge or not.
The vote will run for the following month and a winner will then be declared.

If you have any queries regarding this challenge, PM me or one of the board moderators

thanks to winjeel for hosting the liquid challenge

I'll start the ball rolling then. I actually took these specifically for this challenge. All with the Alpha and 70-210 beercan. Photoshop treatment involved a crop, some green and red saturation boost and a border.

One more to take when I work out what the subject will be :)

My Photobucket account has gone belly up, they appear to be having some server problems. Hope Imagebucket works ... never used it before.
