Challenge #19 - October 2008 - "Night Photography"
« on: October 01, 2008, 03:49:36 AM »
Challenge #19 - October 2008 - "Night Photography"  is now open!

The Theme for this challenge is night photography. It is a photographic technique in which exposures are taken in- or outside between dusk and dawn. Photographers generally have a choice between using artificial light or long exposures. Things that might spring to mind are perhaps light trails; cityscapes at night; illuminated buildings... as long as they are shot between dusk and dawn let your imagination wander!

Here are some perhaps useful links for techniques that might help you achieve this month's goal:
http://www.schoolofphotography.com/night/night.html
http://www.photoxels.com/tutorial-night-photography.html

And some images for inspiration:
http://www.nightphotographer.com/gallery_frameset.htm

A maximum of 4 entries per forum member are allowed and should be posted in this thread.

Maximum image size is 800 pixels on the longer side, and 200 KB in size - entries larger than this will not be considered for shortlisting (contributors will be asked to repost).

Entries close at 10.00 pm on October 31st PDT (= UTC/GMT -8)

Including EXIF info (shutter speed, aperture, focal length, camera model, lens, etc) is not mandatory but is encouraged and welcomed.

Please note the standard challenge rules and posting guidelines.

Please remember there can be no comments on people's submissions for the challenges (to keep the voting fair). Comments on submissions will be deleted without discussion.

Have fun!

Stef. :P
