The flash on my a330 is rather puny. At ISO 800 and f5.6 the range is 16 feet. I want greater range and the ability to shoot at smaller apertures for greater depth of field. I am primarily interested in birds. Off camera flash is not important. Don't want to break the bank either. Any suggestions are appreciated.
What does not breaking the bank mean?
Deewe has recently bought a Godox and may care to comment for you. Look back at recent posts to check which one if he is off playing with his toys  .. The Yonguo's are inexpensive as well.
Choose one with the additional features which you need. Just make sure that the attachment foot matches up with the A330.. john
you could try this offering from Nissin.
at £239, it wont break the bank....
The A330 uses the older IISO shoe, not the newer MIS shoe, so the Nissin will only work with an adaptor.
I'm not sure what is currently available new, but older flashguns that will work are the Minolta 3600, 5600, Sony 36, 42, 56. Youngno 560 II is a good manual flash.
