Minolta 5400HS Flash
« on: February 05, 2015, 12:45:02 PM »
Hello,

What i would like to know is.

I have an old Minolta 5400HS flash which i would like to try and use on my Canon D60 & Canon 40D & Canon 7D using the Minolta adapter FS-1200. I have been told that if i use this it will fry the circuit on the camera rendering the camera useless.

The other question can i use this Minolta 5400HS flash together with this Minolta FS-1200 adapter attached to a Yongnuo RF-602 wireless or will it fry the Yongnuo RF-602.

It has been sitting in the drawer for years and rather leave it there i thought i might be able to make use of it.

Thanks for your help.

Eddie

I have a couple of Minolta 3200i s I got in a bulk deal when I wanted a lens.  I have used them with triggers without a problem.  I have not bothered to use on top of the camera so my response is....
From what I have read, it will be OK but ask around some more...
and Welcome..... john

Thank you John for your reply.
They have these Minolta FS-1200 Adapter in Ffordes Photographic and when I asked about them they told me that if I did what I wanted to do with it that it might possibly fry the cameras.
I'm a little reluctant to try just in case it does not work and the camera gets fried.

With the new(old) iISO Minolta shoe flash you have no risk. The possible problem to fries a camera is with the first generation flash with ISO shoe.
