Jessops 300AFDC
« on: January 22, 2010, 01:01:19 AM »
Not sure if I have made a boo boo here.

I ordered a set of CTR-301 last week 3 receivers and one trigger, I have two old Minolta 2800's which I know work with these triggers but wanted to be able to bounce/tilt so bid and won 10x Jessops 300AFDC on ebay for £19.88.

I have searched around and can only find reference to one person using these flash's and triggers together. Has anyone here used them together?

Thanks,
Dave

Does it matter?  I thought the point was that the reciever connected to the hot shoe and triggered the flash.  I'm assuming as long as the fit together they should work.  As long as your triggers work with your camera everything else should be simple.

I, of course may be wildly wrong but thats what i understood to be the process.

Jon,

I'm not sure. I'm probably being over cautious but they do list what flash's work with the triggers and I have read that some users have had problems with some flash units/system.

Time will tell, both the triggers and flash's should be with me in the next few days :)

Yeah guess so.

Either way for 20 quid you now have 10 flash units.

I'm sure thats some sort of strobist's dream.

Not sure about the optical slave, I ordered them as they were cheap and wanted to have a play about. Every few days bundles of them for Nikon/Canon are put on eBay in sets of 5 or 10 and are sold as untested. I got mine for £19.88 inc delivery so wont be to worried if they don't work or perform as I'd like.

I'll let you know when they come in, hopefully some time this week and post some sample pics.

Finally got these flash units in today, very slow delivery.

All units were new and boxed and seem to work fine when using the test button. However when fitted to the CRT301P's they fisfire allot. I probably managed to only get 1-2 out of 10 shots to fire, this is in both modes Wireless and Lightsource. I have managed to get them to fire when fitted to a hot shoe with pc sync port so not a complete loss.
