Tokina 28-210mm F3.5-5.6 AF
« on: April 04, 2016, 09:59:46 PM »
I saw this for a bargain price, and am tempted as my old Sigma 28-300 has been repaired twice for stripped gears.

Has anyone had one and can tell me what its like please?

thanks

Gordon, I doubt you would be happy with it. It looks just like the Vivitar, version and it is garbage. From what I can find doing a Google, the Tokina is garbage also and not worth the bother. All these lenses, Tokina Vivitar, Cosina, Magnicon and Angenieux used to make lenses for major retail stores like Sears in North America and as they are struggling, so also are the lenses.

thanks for that Ascot, have had a trawl online and found reviews for the Cosina and Vivitar branded ones and see that they rate it is a not good lens, so may give that a miss, have found a couple of Minolta 18-800 DT`s for around £100, so may go for one of them..........

Minolta 18-800 lens! I don't think any maker has made a lens like that, a 44x lens. You must have made a mistake, if not, don't buy it. I promise you it will be a one star out of five. :(
