Tamron 150/600mm lens
« on: May 28, 2016, 06:51:14 AM »
Recently I had to send this lens to be fixed.
It was one day it was working fine the next day it wasn't.

I was out taking a heap of shots of the moon and when I thought I had enough I came in and downloaded them all.
Every shot I took was blurred and had dust bunnies in them. I was a little no I was real mad.
So I knew there was nothing I could do about it so I decided to wait until the next morning to have a go in daylight.
Just as bad but way more Dust Bunnies. So I played with setting after setting and the was also from inside to outside.
Looking at the new images downloaded and seeing them all so bad..
That night I tried a few more and nothing. The only thing left was reset the camera.
Done it and it never helped. All this took 4 days to work through the setting.

I rand the people where I bought it from and they told me to bring it in. Yer right its close to a 5 hour drive.
So she asked to be set a few shot of what it is doing. With luck I kept a few back from the deleted box.
Posted the shot now and the same shot how I was getting it.
Cut this a little short I sent it away.

I got it back and apparently the aperture arm in the lens had come loose and it got a firmwear update.
Now I don't know what that means, but what I do know is that the lens is now give shots better than it has ever done.
Really happy with the results. So its a good lens once again.

Glad it all worked out for you in the end. I'm not sure what would cause "Dust Bunnies"? but the firmware update would certainly improve the lens. What camera/cameras do you use?

Welcome to the forum.  Not many downunders around, whereabouts in NW Victoria are you?  You do not say where you bought the lens but a five hour drive will put you in the vicinity of Mildura.
Good to hear that you have gotten a resolution.

A very late reply as I have had so much on my hands to deal with that forum talk was one of the last thing I had time for.
But Chappo1 you have got it so right on where I am and well done on that to.
I have say the lens is still going strong.
And really happy with the results I am still getting.
