Hi there. I'm having great difficulties chosing here
My current kit: KM 17-35/2.8-4(D) and Sig 70-200/2.8 EX. Plus Min 50/1.4 & Tam 90Di.
The 17-35 & 70-200 were bought as a complementary pair. But in reality the 70-200 doesn't get much street life. Its more for the wildlife season when i shoot deer
So I need a standard zoom a 24/28-75/85/105-ish zoom to act as two things:
- a one lens day tripper
- a dual lens day tripper set to match with the 17-35
So the choices:
- KonMin 28-75/2.8 Di (new £300 .... too new for used!)
- Min 24-85/3.5-4.5 (new £200 used £150 .... new!)
- Min 24-105/3.5-4.5 (D) (new £300 used £170 .... ?)
(somehow I have managed to discount the Sig 24-60/24-70/28-70EX)
I don't print bigger than 6x4" through my Canon CP-300 postcard printer (which by the way is EXCELLENT). But I do want a quality optic.
I read good things about all three lenses. I have £500 to spend, but £150 is to go on a VC-7D.
I'm not a big wide angle fan, hence the 17-35 is plenty wide enough for me. My old ideal was a film world 35mm prime. The 24- zooms give me my ideal wide angle starting point, and then stretch. I think the 28-75 despite being a fabulous lens it actually a little too long in the start of its range and is a bit too narrow a range for a one-len day tripper. So 24-85/105.
Tough choice! Or should I be looking at primes? I used to shoot all primes!
Do any of you have any of these three lenses
pleased with them on your film/D cameras?

PS - this will also double up as a portrait lens. f2.8 isn't really needed, so one of the smaller/lighter f3.5-4.5 will easily do the trick
