Interchangeable lenses
« on: July 24, 2005, 02:53:55 AM »
Hi there,
I have Minolta Dynax 300si SLR camera, and I'm seriously thinking about which digital camera should i get. I use to have Pentax Optio 30 which was ok for party-pictures but now need something more solid.
Does 300si use some other /digital camera/ lenses? I can gradualy buy equipment or do I really have to buy new digital SLR body?
Thank you.

all of your Minolta lenses that work on any Minolta film camera body will work on the Dynax/Maxxum 7D and the new 5D.

You may have a few preoblems with any OLD (over 5 years) Sigma lenses.

Minolta have three new lenses due for launch in Autumn, around the same timew as the 5D (Sep-05, but you may need to pre-order to actually get one in Sep-05).  The new ones are:  11-18, 18-70, 18-200 - these three will ONLY work on the 5D and 7D.  That is the only compatability quirk.  All old Min lenses will be fine.
