Charity shop find -
(1/1)
deeslexia:
I have just taken a £20 chance upon a circa 1985 ? Minolta 5000 in a dirty , musty case with well regarded 35-70 f4 '' macro '' and what I now know to be a classic 70-210 ' beercan ' . All lens hoods , Minolta flash gun , Hoya filters and original paperwork present . Must have been treasured in it's day .
Initially , the 70-210 would hunt focus , but not settle on the A35 , and the A290 sgnalled ' no lens ' .
Having cleaned the contacts with the supplied silicon tissues , I now have a pair of fully functional Minolta lenses .
I have the silver 35-80 II , which has always been great on my new 404si , but the 35-70 looks the part on the A290 .
The 5000 and case will be passed on to another Charity shop .

A very nice find!! These kind of finds always put a smile in my face, even if the kit is broken, then cleaning up and playing around is therapeutic :)

Great deal and well spotted. I agree with Dave too, even if they do not work, you can have 20 quids worth of fun playing with them.
Charity shops are also a great place to find unique old stuff to photograph for still life as well....john
