New to me Tamron 200-400LD test shots
« on: May 10, 2011, 04:31:53 PM »
Having some fun with this new lens.
At first was not sure if the lens would hold up to standards of being sharp, hand holdable
and fast focus shooting birds on the wing.
Not being sure what to expect..
I also did some gull's in flight and the lens was faster than my 75-300f4.5 focusing on moving objects.

So far I am happy with it. Nice an sharp at both extreams..added a 2x wow! It just works.

A little out my area for subjects...but a good test.

Looks like you got a great lens in this deal !  Very sharp and #3 with the TC is very good.

I am really sorry Gorden I missed this question, did not mean to...my bad!

I found a  2X.... TAMRON SP 300F-XI WITH CAPS, CASE, TELECONVERTER - KEH.com

It has worked great for most of the times with some purple fringing.  The converter will not work with all lens because of the shallow depth of the mount.

I have since used it on both my a100 and the Max 7D.

I also use a generic 1.7x and it has contrast issues sometimes, I wish I could find a Tameron replacement but $200 an up on my budget is not happening for now.

Again I apologise for such a late response.

New medication has been a tuff trial to deal with.
